Cookie Policy
The best experiences remember you gently, and never follow too closely.

Like most modern digital publications, Tech-Stribe uses cookies and browser storage technologies. This page explains what tools we use, why we use them, and how you stay in complete control of your privacy.
For a complete overview of how we safeguard your personal information, please review our Privacy Policy.
What Are Cookies and Local Storage?
A cookie is a small text file stored on your browser when you visit a website. It allows the site to recognize your device across visits and preserve your selected preferences.
We also utilize browser local storage (localStorage), which operates similarly but stores data locally on your machine without transmitting it across every network request.
How We Use Cookies & Storage
1. Essential Infrastructure & Security
These tools are strictly necessary to deliver pages securely, protect against malicious bot traffic (via Cloudflare DDoS protection), and maintain site integrity. They cannot be switched off in our systems.
2. User Preferences (Local Storage)
We believe in respectful software design. When you toggle between Dark Mode and Light Mode, or when you use the Reading List feature to save articles for later, that preference is saved locally on your device in your browser’s localStorage. It is never sold or used to profile you.
3. Anonymized Performance & Traffic Insights
We use Google Analytics (GA4) and Google Search Console to monitor aggregated traffic patterns—such as which engineering teardowns are most helpful and how readers discover our guides. This data is fully anonymized and used solely to improve editorial coverage.
Good design remembers your preferences without ever making you feel watched.
Cookies and Storage Tools in Use

| Identifier | Purpose | Category | Storage Type / Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| ts_theme | Stores your preferred UI theme (Dark vs. Light mode). | Preference | Browser LocalStorage (Persistent) |
| ts_bookmarks | Stores your private saved reading list locally on your device. | Preference | Browser LocalStorage (Persistent) |
| cf_clearance | Cloudflare security token used to prevent automated DDoS attacks. | Essential | HTTP Cookie (Up to 1 Year) |
| _ga, _ga_* | Anonymized traffic analytics to measure readership and popular topics. | Analytics | HTTP Cookie (Up to 13 Months) |
Managing Your Cookie Choices
You have full control over cookies and storage on your machine. You can:
- Browser Controls: Block, restrict, or delete cookies at any time via your browser settings (Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Edge).
- Private Browsing: Browse in Incognito or Private mode, which automatically clears all cookies and local storage when the window closes.
Note: If you clear local storage, your Dark/Light theme toggle will reset to your system default.
Third-Party Services
Our articles may link to or embed external technical demos, code repositories, or media. These external platforms (such as GitHub, YouTube, or X) operate under their own independent privacy and cookie policies.
